A review on a 2014 Acura RLX with the technology package. The RLX has a direct injected 3.5 VTEC V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 272 ft lb of torque mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission. Acceleration to 60mph is under 5.8 seconds.
PROS: Powerful acceleration, very smooth and tomb like quiet, excellent steering, very high quality interior with expansive materials, roomy interior and great value of the buck.
CONS: The duel screen layout can be sometimes confusing, wide turning radius and lack of sunshades and heated steering wheel at $55k and Acura's restraint on a rear wheel drive set up or a V8 engine.
Overall I think the Acura RLX is a major improving over it's predecessor, the RL. I also think that the RLX competes well with competitions from Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Audi etc and personally the Acura RLX would be my first choice. After seeing this RLX, I think Acura is regarded as a full luxury brand like Lexus, Mercedes, BMW or Audi. I rate it 9.8 out of 10.
